Privacy policy

What we collect

• Location searches. When you search by postcode or place name, we look up its coordinates to find nearby parks. Your search also appears in the page address, so it reaches our API's request log (without your IP address), which is deleted each time we update the site, and Google Analytics if you allow analytics.
• Technical data. Our server receives your IP address and the pages you request, as every web server does. Our web server does not write access logs. The company we rent the server from may record network traffic, including your IP address, to run and protect its network. It acts as our processor, and its servers may be outside the UK and EU.
• Usage statistics. Only if you allow analytics, Google Analytics records the pages you visit, how you reached the site, and your device, browser and approximate location. We use them to count visits and improve the site.
• Advertising data. Only if you also allow advertising, Google links your visits to your Google account when you are signed in. This gives us anonymous reports on visitors' age, gender and interests, and lets us show ads to past visitors on Google's networks (remarketing).

We do not ask for your name or email address. We do not use accounts.

Stored on your device

We save the following in your browser's local storage. It is never sent to us, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

• Your last three searched locations, deleted automatically after 24 hours.

Cookies

A necessary first-party cookie remembers your choice. Every other cookie appears only after you accept the category that uses it. Rejecting still sets the necessary cookie, so we do not ask again.

If you allow advertising, Google may also use its own cookies on google.com when you are signed in.

Use Cookie settings on this page to change or withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing analytics deletes its cookies and reloads the page. We keep your choice for 182 days, then ask again.

Third parties

• Location lookup: we run our own location service, postcodes.solfegeai.com. Our server sends it your search text, but not your IP address.
• Map tiles: when the map loads, your browser requests map images directly from Esri. The provider sees your IP address and the map area on screen, and its own privacy policy applies.
• Google Analytics: nothing from Google loads before you allow analytics. Then Google processes the usage statistics above for us and keeps them for 14 months. Google may process them outside the UK and EU, including in the US: Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension, and its data processing terms add standard contractual clauses. • External links: links to Tripadvisor, Google Maps and holiday park operators take you to sites with their own privacy policies.

Search terms also appear in the page address, so anyone you share a link with can see them.

Holiday Park Search is run by Solfege Media Ltd, the data controller for the information described here. Solfege Media Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 07701812. Registered office: 65 Walsworth Road, Hitchin, SG4 9FJ.

Legal basis

We process search and technical data under legitimate interests (UK GDPR and GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): providing the search you asked for and keeping the site running and secure.

We set non-essential cookies, and process the data they collect, only with your prior consent: UK PECR and UK GDPR for UK visitors, the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR for EU visitors. You can accept or reject with equal ease, the site works the same either way, and you can withdraw consent at any time with Cookie settings.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or erase the personal data we hold about you, restrict or object to its processing, or receive it in a portable format. Contact contact@holidayparksearch.co.uk. We don't know who you are, so to find your data we may ask for details such as when you visited and your IP address.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to a data protection authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office; in the EU, the authority in the country where you live or work.
